Tales of a 4th grade diorama

I'll just say it here.  I hate 4th grade!  I thought I was all done with that grade.  Apparently when you have children, you get to enroll in school again.  So....Thomas had to read a book and do a diorama about a scene from the book.   I thought Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing was a good book for him.....yeah, it was on his level and it was in the house so I didn't have to go buy a book.  We read it together and Thomas chose the scene where Fudge, almost 3 years old, climbs to the top of the jungle gym and attempts to fly, falls to the ground and loses his two front teef.  Naturally.  Why do the scene where Fudge thinks he's a dog and eats dinner under the table?  Anyhoo.....I got the supplies and we sat and did it together.  Mama's aiming for that A!  Well, Thomas turned it in and did his oral presentation.  Here's the picture of the diorama....

Here's the graded rubric....

Hellz yes!  Perfection!  Woohoo!!!  Is it bad that I'm super stoked about this?  Probably.  But, it's the little victories that make me happy.  Like when there's just enough fabric left on the bolt for me to get the amount I needed....cuz that happened today too.  Happy Tuesday people!

Ok....I'm getting to know my blog...

I found a purty background so it doesn't look like I have no idea what I'm doing.  And there's a tree across the street that is SCREAMING for a picture.  But, my neighbors are a bit weird and I'm sure they'll think I'm trying to take pictures of their house.  (Seriously....I couldn't care less what the hell they do over there.  I still think the father stole our circular saw.)  I'm enjoying the cool weather today.  I didn't need a sweater today.  WOOHOO!!  But, since Texas has obviously moved to the northern part of the country, we're back to the 40s tomorrow.  Oy!  I can't wait for vacation so I won't have to bundle up the kids to take them to school.  There's a reason why I do not live in the north.

I'm sewing away on a gift.  There are multiple pieces of this gift so I'm knocking them out one by one.  But, I do have to take time to make Emma's dress for our trip to see Santa with her class on Wednesday.  You know I have to get her all dolled up so she will stand out.  LOL  I need to kick some ass soon or she'll be nekkid.  I suppose I should feed Emma and get sewing.  I need an elf to help me.  Anyone know of an elf who sews?

Guess it's time for the first post!

I was inspired by my buddies Tammy and Andrea to start blogging.  I have no idea what to blog about yet.  I'm sure there will be rants.  Hell, I'm definitely positive there will be rants.  I'm positive there will be pictures that I take and love.  I'm positive there will be stories about my kiddos and how much I love them or how much they're making me want to drink.  It'll be entertaining for damn sure.  So, stay tuned.  I'll try to be a good girl and remember to blog.  Later taters!
